Why sound became such an important part of my own healing journey.

Before I ever discovered sound healing in the way I know it now, sound and music had already been part of my life for as long as I can remember.

Even as a teenager, music felt deeply emotional and regulating for me. Dancing with my friends, losing myself in music, singing in the car, being surrounded by sound… it always felt healing in a way I couldn’t fully explain at the time.

Looking back now, I realise those moments were some of the few times I truly felt present, connected, and free within myself.

As my own healing journey deepened over the years, I naturally became more curious about the deeper relationship between sound, vibration, emotion, movement, and the nervous system. That curiosity eventually led me towards sound healing more intentionally, where everything began to make sense in a completely different way.

The relationship between sound, vibration, and the body

What I found most fascinating is that sound is not only something we hear, but something we physically and emotionally feel.

Everything within the body carries its own rhythm and frequency, from our heartbeat and breathing to our nervous system and brainwaves. Sound and vibration can gently influence these states, often supporting the body in shifting out of stress responses and into deeper states of regulation, emotional release, and connection.

Research around sound healing, frequency, vibration, and nervous system regulation continues to grow, particularly in areas connected to stress reduction, relaxation, meditation, and emotional wellbeing. Many people notice that during sound healing sessions, they soften into a state that can feel difficult to access within everyday life.

The vibrations from crystal singing bowls, Tibetan bowls, gongs, tuning forks, and other sound healing instruments move through the body in such a tangible way. During sessions, I often notice emotions gently rise to the surface, breathing deepen naturally, or a deep sense of calmness settle into the body.

Because I also weave energy healing into my sessions, including Rahanni Celestial Healing and Reiki, the experience can feel deeply expansive for some people. I’ve had clients describe sensations of reconnecting to themselves, their intuition, their higher self, or even experiencing an out-of-body feeling during sessions.

What sound healing can feel like

For me, this work is not about escaping ourselves, but returning home to ourselves more fully.

Sometimes healing looks like lying still in the sound and simply allowing yourself to soften.

Sometimes it looks like dancing freely with your friends, music moving emotion through your body.

Sometimes it’s tears, laughter, goosebumps, deep breaths, or moments where you suddenly feel fully present again.

To me, that is the power of sound.

It moves through places words often cannot reach.

In a world that constantly keeps us overstimulated and disconnected from ourselves, I truly believe there is something deeply healing about returning to the body through sound, vibration, movement, connection, and presence.
